Mod Gamecube To Play Backups
So lately I've been getting all my old consoles up and running again. I got my old PS2 setup and I'm using Free McBoot so I can play PS2 games without needing to track down copies of games. Free McBoot also allows me to do other stuff with the console that I otherwise wouldn't be able to do such as homebrew. Lately I've been looking to get my GameCube up and running again but I need to buy a few things before I do that. Anyways I've been thinking alot about my free McBoot setup for my PS2 and am wondering what the gameCube equivalent is. I know there's stuff out there like SD media launcher but I'm not really sure what's up with that. I saw a YouTube video where some guy bought one online supposedly from an official source that sells and makes them but his SD card didn't fit and he had to modify the casing to make it work. in the comments of that video like 90% of the comments are people claiming they bought the same product the guy in the video did and the disc used to launch the homebrew software doesn't work or that there's major issues with reading SD cards and stuff like that. So I'm curious if anyone hears has any more info to shed on the situation and might also be able to give me some recommendations. i really wanna get a setup going where I don't need to use official game discs as most of my original game library has been lost over the years.
